Assembly was easy, hardest part was un-clipping the lines from the factory intake. Fitment was good and the sound is great! It made accelerating a lot more fun because of the sound.

  2. Glaguana

The product did not fit, one of the tube was to short and the clip ring was to big.

  3. TylerR

It was easy to install but was missing the clamp for the air filter other than that was easy and sounds great. The boxes does wiggle a little bit but not a big deal really

I actually waited (and waited) and got the kit for $20 off so I consider it a really cheap price. The fit and finish was perfect so I rate everything very highly, hard to tell the performance gain, certainly there was a noticeable gain, no disrespect to RC but I stayed at 4 though. In reality I doubt you get more for your money, bang for your buck, when you pay $100-$300+ more on the other higher priced kits. Problems I had NOT related to the Rough Country Cold Air Intake: I had added a t-body spacer some time ago and I had to remove it in order for the Rough Country kit to fit. Additionally the small hose on the tube from the air box to the t-body just wouldn’t come lose and in the end I broke off the nipple. Yes, I was releasing the catch…No biggie, I’ll never put the factory air box and tube back on but pretty sure if needed I can glue that small nipple back on. Overall given the price I paid I couldn’t be happier. JU

The product is a copy of the KN CAI. It’s not as well made but it provides the same function and looks good. No whistles or leaks. Watch the install for the K&N. Just my tips below 1. Two pieces of weather strip will help secure the filter box better to the bottom half and keep it from moving around. K&N kit provided 2. The Rough Country kit comes with 4 out of the 5 clamps required. I reused the clamp on the MAF for the 5th 3. K&N comes with a spare hose in case the crank evap is too short. Buy a hose from NAPA with the corresponding quick disconnects just in case. My OEM hose was just long enough.

I was hesitant to go with the rough country cold air intake due to the cheap price, but once it arrived I’m blown away with the quality and attention to detail!!! It fits like a glove, looks and sounds amazing, I can feel the difference during heavy acceleration. If you’re on the fence over this intake and a 400 dollar one, you won’t be disappointed!!!

  7. RicoL

The intake fit good and looks good, easy install. Gives you a nice little intake whistle. Good intake for the price.

Honestly, as you may know, you get what you pay for. The install takes some time and the box isn’t a perfect fit for a 2018 f150 and make sure you scissors to cut the seal instead of a knife, i busted mine up pretty decent. But it definitely does work. I was a bit worried reading reviews about people not getting their parts for months but im happy to say i got my intake about a week before the scheduled ETA. Im no mechanic and my truck is basically stock with no tune but it definitely feels and sounds better with the intake on, especially when you get on it a bit. Overall if you’re looking to buy an intake but not willing to spend $300-$500 this is a really good option in my opinion, definitely worth the price. Hope this whoever is yet to make a decision helps.

Nice CAI for good price, this brings good throttle response and brings your V8 alive. The sound is just awesome if you want to hear your engine. Can’t beat it in quality and price.
