Description
Description. The Rancho RS5000X series design includes progressive rebound and compression discs. At lower speeds or in the earlier stages of the shock’s travel, an eccentric disc in the valve shim stacks will engage the valving at lower frequencies, helping to control the energy of motion as the cycle of the shock increases or decreases in its action. These are soft struts and ensure a gentle ride. They are a bear to put in yourself, I highly recommend taking them to someone, as you need a spring compressor. If you do want to put these in yourself, remove wheel, unbolt the tie rod, then the control arm from the knuckle, then the bottom bolt that holds in the strut. Lastly loosen the three top bolts around the strut up top. NEVER TOUCH THE CENTER STRUT BOLT. You can do this yourself with a car lift and the correct tools but I have installed one and am letting the pros handle the other. Very nice struts though.

I had to get a shop to install the front struts because I couldn’t separate the upper ball joint to get the upper control arm out of the way. I didn’t want to ruin the ball joint with my pickle fork and hammer. The ride is good. I’ll know more when I see how my tires wear. I can do the rear myself because its some jacking and two bolts.

Fast shipping and great struts on my 2012 F-150 FX2 Way better than the stock struts

Looks good, functions very well. Works well with 2-3” level on 14 Silverado

I thought this before a few years back for my titan that Work great and reliable. I never had a problem with them and I would put them to the test driving down dry riverbed in the Arizona desert

Not really a noticeable difference from my stock so not to impressed, maybe my hopes were just to high but hey they do the job so no complaints, they look cool though lol

The installation is simple if you have the right tools for the job. Just have to be mindful of the loaded spring, and follow the instructions on the actual shock to precharge it before putting the spring together. The ride quality is better than the original and also better in comparison with the Rough Country shocks I had installed prior to the Rancho. The springs that I installed were the one that came with my Rough Country shocks, and the combination is really good even with the lift spacers. Overall good purchase and good quality.

I used stock coil springs with this shock. Looks great. Perfect amount of height.
